audemars piguet 300m 1000ft automatic

I just got a Breitling Super Avenger 2 48 and I don't go out often or wear my watch at home. .

Yesterday morning, I put on my watch and adjusted the time and date as I hadn't . 1) automatics are designed to maintain the power level. As such, when the watch is fully stopped, give it a full wind when setting. If the watch has no hand wind, gentle back and forth movement for 30 secs should do it. 2) a used watch from eBay May have issues that you don’t know about.

I just got a Breitling Super Avenger 2 48 and I don't go out often or wear my watch at home. The first few days it worked fine but now its been 2 weeks and in between that time I noticed it would stop moving due to lack of me wearing. Yesterday morning, I put on my watch and adjusted the time and date as I hadn't worn it for nearly a week. Later that morning when I checked the time, I notced that it had stopped. I gave it a little shake of the wrist and a wind up, but it didn't start.

If yes, and it’s still stopping after 35-48 hours, then it sounds like something is wrong with the auto winding mechanism and would need to be addressed by a watchmaker. +3 seconds/day is great timing for a Caliber 5 (which will be an ETA 2824 or Sellita SW 200). I know it's not low battery and I'm familiar with the manual second hand setting, and the second hand moves just fine when in this mode. I'm afraid to send it in as I'm sure the cost of repair will be close to, or exceed, the value of the watch. Simply shaking it may not be giving it enough juice to keep running, but obviously giving it a full wind should not only start it back up, but should also give it a full power reserve. If it still isn't running, then yeah, that's a big problem.

I always take my watch off at night and usually leave it off for 8 hours and sometimes up to 12 hours at weekends. This has been fine for 5 years. Now, my watch has stops quite regularly, like 2 or 3 times a month minimum since having had it serviced in November, and not just at weekends. I’m thinking about stopping into a dealer and giving one of their blackbirds a feel to see what it sounds/feels like when it moves. Just curious if this is a warranty issue or something where I’m going to have to send the watch in. Has anybody else experienced this before? After resetting the watch, the piece keeps time again flawlessly at +/- 1s per day - until I notice it’s sped ahead again. Based on my math timing it recently at 5pm, I estimate it started up at 4:15pm, assuming the watch is consistent in speed.

Poor lubrication can make the automatic winding less effective and sticky oils would also let the movements stop a lot earlier. Mechanical watches require a service after 10 years or so. Maybe your Breitlings need a proper review, cleaning and new lubrication? 1) automatics are designed to maintain the power level.
