TL;DR: I spent 6 months and over ,800 modifying my Gen 5 Glock 19 with well-reviewed quality components, only to end up switching 8 out of 10 parts back to stock. My advice: shoot 1000 rounds meaningfully through your stock Glock, then decide what mods/upgrades to do based on your experience. Link to the full details can be found at the end . I have a zev'd out g35 and a zev g17 slide. Both were bought for far under retail used- the Gucci guns do not hold value at all. I paid 850 or so for the g35. I don't remember what I paid for the 17 slide but it was a good deal back before p80 blew up the gen 3 slide market. I like how both shoot but neither is as reliable as a stock glock. We have safes / racks full of firearms. We have wall-mounted home defense gun(s), hidden HD gun(s), carry firearms, hunting rifles, Gucci-ass safe queens / wall guns, incomplete builds in various stages on our bench, thousands in optics sitting on shelves and / or swapping between temporary builds.
