The image is absolutely stunning, and I love seeing the Rolex Explorer (ref. 1016) on the wrist of a mountaineer on his way to the top of the Matterhorn. The message of the ad is as much fun as it is true and it immediately creates an image of the famous mountain in the Swiss Alps that has become synonymous with Switzerland. The Explorer is a humble watch for a Rolex professional model launched 69 years ago.
