Hi everyone, I finally got an opportunity to buy a Sea-Dweller last week from one of my local Rolex ADs, after about 9 months of being on the interest list. I just wanted to share a few thoughts and pictures of it with the forum as I've gained some good insights from other contributors here. Got the Sea Dweller after a two month wait. Thought I would have to wait longer, and was pleasantly surprised to get the call. Picked up this 1993 Sea Dweller 16600. I was drawn to the slender smaller case appearance , and the lighter bracelet relative to current models. This 40 gram weight savings really makes a difference at the end of the day where it never feels unwelcome. I even like the older lighter clasp.

If the Sea-Dweller (and subsequently the Submariner) were 42mm with ceramic bezels - then I would jump on one immediately. The bracelet is also long overdue for an upgrade. This one was marked “6634,” and a quick Google search showed that this was indeed a genuine Rolex model! The reference 6634 Oyster Perpetual is also known as the “Golden Egg” because of its thick, gold-capped case. I found a few different references with gold-capped cases with several dial variants.
